Yeosu is a city located at the southernmost tip of Korea.
Being right by the sea, it's famous for its seafood dishes, cable cars that pass over the water, and cruise tours that offer stunning night views of Yeosu and fireworks displays over the ocean.
In this post, I want to share information about the Yeosu cable car and the Yeosu fireworks festival, which takes place every fall.

Yeosu Cable Car is a maritime cable car that connects islands across the water. There are two types of Yeosu Maritime Cable Cars: a regular cable car and a crystal cabin with a transparent tempered glass floor.
You can purchase tickets for either one-way or round-trip journeys.
Typically, you board at Haeya Station in Jasan Park and get off at Nora Station in Dolsan Park on Dolsan island.

Since there are no set boarding times, you can take the cable car to Dolsan Park, explore there, and then return to Haeya Station at your leisure, or vise versa.
The prices for Yeosu Maritime Cable Cars are as follows.

Babies under 36 months ride for free, but you must provide a document proving their age. A passport showing the baby's date of birth is acceptable.
A child is defined as someone between 36 months and 12 years old, while an adult is anyone 13 years old or older.
To purchase tickets on-site, you can use the ticket machines at each cable car station.

I went to see the Yeosu Fireworks Show on October 26, 2019.
After dinner, my family and I took the cable car at night and, luckily, we were able to see the fireworks show from the cable car.
My family and I took the crystal cabin, but I don't recommend taking it at night. When the cabin passes over the sea, you can't see anything below even if you look down. It's better to take the crystal cabin during the day and the regular cabin at night.
The Yeosu Maritime Cable Car is worth taking at least once. And the fireworks show from the cable car was fantastic.
The maritime cable car has regular maintenance days every month.
Since you can't ride the cable car on those days, if you are planning a trip to Yeosu, it's a good idea to check the website in advance to see when the maintenance days are scheduled.
As long as there is no typhoon, you can ride the cable car even if it rains.
However, since the cable car operation may be canceled due to bad weather, it's recommended to check the website to see if the cable car will be operating before you go if it rains on the day of your visit.

Yeosu hosts a fireworks show every year.
The Yeosu Fireworks Festival is one of the four major fireworks festivals in Korea, featuring various performances in addition to the fireworks display.
Held at the end of October, the festival falls during Korea's fall season, so it can get quite chilly at night.

In late October, Yeosu's daily high temperature is around 18℃(64℉) and the daily low temperature is around 8℃(46℉). The sea breeze can make it feel even colder, so it's recommended to wear slightly thicker outerwear.
The date for this year's Yeosu Fireworks Festival hasn't been confirmed yet. However, since it's usually held between October 26th and 28th, it is expected to be around that time this year as well.
