About Cheonan
Cheonan is located in Chungcheongnam-do, and is geographically under Gyeonggi-do. It takes about 2 hours by the metropolitan subway from Seoul to Cheonan.
Cheonan's famous place
Cheonan is the historical city. Of course, Korea is the country that over 5,000 years of history lives and breathes. But what I want to point out, Cheonan has not just the Independence Hall of Korea, but Yu Gwan-sun Memorial Hall. Yu Gwan-sun was the girl who resisted Japanese colonial rule for independence, leading many people.
If I have a day to travel in Cheonan, I will definitely head for the Independence Hall.

This place is very well composed and managed. It feels even majestic. When my family and I entered there, because we had visited my cousin's wedding right before, we wore formal clothes with shoes on, and we had each one's crocs slippers in the car. We wanted to wear the crocs slippers to feel relaxed, but the solemn feeling of the facility made us wear shoes not crocs. After we visited 5 of halls, we got some gratitude feeling deep from the heart for patriotic martyrs along with our hurt feet and tired body. ;)
Famous food
Cheonan is the origin of Hodoo-gwaja, meaning Walnut bread. It's not cookie texture, but bread texture. Hodoo-gwaja normally has sweetened red bean filling. In the picture above, it is variant form of Hodoo-gwaja called Twi-So bbang. It is fried Hodoo-gwaja with soboro on. In my case, I like just Hodoo-gwaja with sweetened white bean filling in. You can taste the bread almost every expressway rest area.
